Droppings, at a glance.
Look, but don’t touch. Size is one of the best clues to what you have.
- Tiny, like grains of riceOften mice.
- Bigger, like raisinsOften rats. Clearly larger than mouse droppings.
- Large, piled in one spotOften a larger animal, like a raccoon.
Cleaning up? Don’t sweep or vacuum. Follow the CDC’s clean-up steps.
Questions, answered.
Can this checker tell me for sure what is in my attic?
No. It gives a likely match from your answers, not a diagnosis. Only an inspection can confirm what is there and how it gets in. Our inspection is free.
Is it safe to clean up droppings myself?
If you do, follow the CDC's steps: don't sweep or vacuum, air out the space for 30 minutes, wear gloves, soak the droppings with a bleach solution for 5 minutes and wipe them up with paper towels. Full steps: CDC, clean up after rodents.
What happens at the free inspection?
We check the attic, crawl space and garage and the outside of the house for entry openings, and you get photos of every opening we find. Please be home for the inspection. Most customers get their written quote 30–60 minutes after the inspection, same day at the latest.
Do you see my answers?
No. The checker runs on your phone or computer. Nothing you pick is sent or saved, unless you choose to book an inspection with our form.
